Style Study/ Realism, stylised, handpainted

This project is a personal study carried out as part of a research process aimed at better understanding and comparing different visual styles used in real-time 3D.
The goal was to model the same object — a simple wooden box — and create three different versions of the asset based on distinct artistic directions: Realistic, Semi-Realistic, and Handpainted.
This approach allowed me to analyze the fundamental differences between these styles, particularly in the way materials, textures, lighting, and stylization are handled.
Through this project, I was able to better understand:
The differences in modeling approaches, as the semi-realistic style is quite similar to realism in terms of modeling but mainly differs in the texturing process
The impact of style on the readability and artistic direction of an asset
The variations in material treatment depending on the chosen style
